That has happened to me too. It's ok. I looked at the reciept notice and the date is the original reciept date not the one mentioned in update. Don't worry. If you are really concerned call your lawyer.

I've updated the guidelines to reflect these two issues.
I put the gradient as a color thing, but I'll clarify in the guidelines that background colors are cool.

Believe me, everyone here knows ins and outs of consulting business, the desi employer, the Nick Mandallappas of the world etc. etc.
By saying such things on public forum you are helping the enemies who are arguing the exact thing they say to oppose H1b and oppose EB greencards.
I would urge you to restrain raw emotions, especially on public forums, and help us put arguments in an articulate way.
Sarcasm and rhetoric will not take you an inch away from where you are right now.

As mentioned by Administrator2 to report any issues with the tracker on this thread, here are issues I found.
1. I tried to sort the listing on Priority Date. The issue is that it does alphabetical sorting and not sorting according to the date. It displays all members with Apr-01, then Apr-02, then Apr-03 instead of Apr-01, May-01, Jun-01 etc.
2. Also, right now, one can just go back or forth 2 pages at a time. say if you are on page 5, it displays page 3,4,5,6 and 7 as links. It would be nice to add a longer list of pages to jump to or a drop down/text box to jump to a desired page number would be better.
Nice work to add this tracker...this will prevent all the different polls popping up.

Hello Gurus,
I am July 2nd filer like so many others. I have changed employer after 9 month of filing I-485. I-140 was approved in Jun 2007. I have AP approved.
My question : Is it advisable to travel to India and come back on AP? the reason I am asking is I have changed the employer? Will that affect my entry back to USA in any way at immigration check? Please advise.

Don't worry about an advance parole I-94 expiring. There is no penalty if you overstay beyond the period authorized on an advance parole I-94. I don't know why they put an end date on those. There is no way to extend them other than leaving the US and re-entering. More to the point, there can't do anything if your overstay.

The Visa officer said all my documents are good but still issued me a yellow form that says that administrative process is required for my case. She gave me back my passport and the yellow form. The application is pending.
I have a valid EAD and AP. Is it possible for me to abandon the H1 process and enter US on EAD and AP.
I am looking for legal expertise here.

Well, yes you can certainly abandon H-1 process & come back on EAD/AP. However, I would try some other consulate first like Hyderabad or Delhi. I believe since you have gone for H-1 extension, you can go to pretty much any consulate in India.
My friend was issued a yellow form 221g or something @ Toronto Consulate. He went to Delhi & got his visa stamped. No questions asked.
But you should wait to check if its PIMS delay. PIMS delays are generally resolved in 2 -3weeks.

You don't HAVE an A# yet - it is the number you get on your greencard
The A# is a case number that USCIS assigns to certain people, and then (usually, for exceptions see below) stays with you for the rest of your life, much like a Social Security Number. hey seattle, I have not heard of part time worker + FT student on H1 either....as far as getting 140 from F1...I just don't see how that is possible? 140+ 485 ia all employment based....if they see that you no longer have a job...then wouldn't that immediately disqualify you? Anyways - I'm pretty sure that I do not want to switch to F1....even if I were willing to give up my place in the longest darn line in the world, I need money coming in while I am at school!!

AOS is neither vaild non-immigrant status nor immigrant status. It is a "period of authorized stay" based on contigency of approval of 485. Though, it has work authorization, there is no law clearly says they are eligible for school or any other benefits that immigrants enjoy. Therefore, it is difficult to explain to those have limited knowledge. It is better to get a letter from immigrant lawer to explain to school or just follow what school is suggesting.

Please advise urgently.
Say today my I-140 is denied.
Current H1B is getting renewals due to labor pending for more than 1 year, so getting 1 year renewals.
Now I-140 is denied.
Lawyer is opening an MTR.
We dont know when the decision will come. May be positive, may be negative.
1.What happens to my current H1B which is due for renewal in Mar 2011. Can I continue to work, while MTR is pending.
2. Can I get extensions while MTR is pending.
3. If I get extension based on pending MTR, What happens to extended H1B if MTR says I-140 denied.
Say today my I-140 is denied.

Its been real fast. Yesterday I received my Approval letter, today I received my Card in mail.
Application was approved on 13 may after opening SR on 6th may. So canceling INFOPASS... :)
